Want to make a difference on campus? Help your fellow students? Meet new people and learn new skills? Then think about applying for Students’ Council!

SAMRU is now seeking Governors to join our 2013 – 14 Students’ Council. As the highest governing board of the Students’ Association, Students’ Council leads the organization by designing the policies and strategies that govern SAMRU’s initiatives.

As a Students’ Council Governor, you would represent the student voice on issues ranging from long-term plans to yearly budgets. You’d also be part of a dynamic decision-making team, helping students through holistic advocacy and responsive governance.

If you’re interested in board governance, post-secondary education, volunteerism or all three, Students’ Council is a great place to make an impact! All Governors receive comprehensive training, as well as experience in:

  • Representation and governance
  • Finance and budget development
  • Robert’s Rules
  • Teambuilding
  • Collaboration and self-discovery
  • Leadership

Students’ Council Governors also receive a small honorarium for their committee work on students’ behalf. If you’d like to learn more, check out our Students’ Council page.
