SAMRU has partnered with the Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) Community
Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) to offer the SAMRU Free Tax Clinic! The program is for low-income individuals who meet the criteria set out by the CVITP program to encourage them to file their taxes.
Our clinic is run by trained volunteers and design to help low-income individuals with simple tax situations. Any Mount Royal University student (or low-come individuals) can use this service provided they meet certain qualifying criteria. Unfortunately, we cannot process returns for individuals who do not meet the criteria outlined by the CVITP.

Genes of the weekly program include Bollywood, traditional Indigenous, acoustic music, and Philipino rap. International Music Night creates an increased connection within the MRU community, by supporting local artists as well as by learning about different cultures. Held virtually, attendees can enjoy this culturally rich entertainment from the comfort of their homes and are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks. We look forward to jamming out with you!

Recent MRU graduate Randy Turning Robe Jr. is a Traditional Hand Drum singer born and raised in Mohtk’iin’skiss (Calgary). Randy’s mother is from the Tsuut’ina Nation and his father is from the Siksika Nation and he is a fourth-generation drummer and singer from his family’s drum group.

Bebe Buckskin
Making her way from the bush of Northern Alberta, Bebe Buckskin, is a Nêhiyaw singer song-writer and matriarch, cultivates a delightful fusion of rhythm & blues, classic rock and soulful roots that warm the hearts of all who hear her perform.
With multiple chart-successes on the Indigenous Music Countdown, Buckskin is no stranger to creating, releasing and working her unique music. Her sophomore EP, “Asiskiy” which means “Earth” in Cree, is a 5 track EP and was recorded at Dog in The Window Records in Calgary, and released in April 2020 release.

Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) to offer the SAMRU Free Tax Clinic! The program is for low-income individuals who meet the criteria set out by the CVITP program to encourage them to file their taxes.
Our clinic is run by trained volunteers and design to help low-income individuals with simple tax situations. Any Mount Royal University student (or low-come individuals) can use this service provided they meet certain qualifying criteria. Unfortunately, we cannot process returns for individuals who do not meet the criteria outlined by the CVITP.

Cultures of MRU is hosting International Music Night, every Friday night in March, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. featuring a diverse range of local singers who perform music that is dear to their hearts. Genes of the weekly program include Bollywood, traditional Indigenous, acoustic music, and Philipino rap. International Music Night creates an increased connection within the MRU community, by supporting local artists as well as by learning about different cultures. Held virtually, attendees can enjoy this culturally rich entertainment from the comfort of their homes and are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks. We look forward to jamming out with you!

Recent MRU graduate Randy Turning Robe Jr. is a Traditional Hand Drum singer born and raised in Mohtk’iin’skiss (Calgary). Randy’s mother is from the Tsuut’ina Nation and his father is from the Siksika Nation and he is a fourth-generation drummer and singer from his family’s drum group.

Making her way from the bush of Northern Alberta, Bebe Buckskin, is a Nêhiyaw singer song-writer and matriarch, cultivates a delightful fusion of rhythm & blues, classic rock and soulful roots that warm the hearts of all who hear her perform.
With multiple chart-successes on the Indigenous Music Countdown, Buckskin is no stranger to creating, releasing and working her unique music. Her sophomore EP, “Asiskiy” which means “Earth” in Cree, is a 5 track EP and was recorded at Dog in The Window Records in Calgary, and released in April 2020 release.
