Beggars, Thieves, Invalids and Freaks: Questioning our assumptions about health, wellness, and disability
As part of Cultures of MRU, Join us on a whirlwind tour of history as we consider the concept of disability and the way it has been understood through time. We will explore human rights issues, medicalization, and some of the more common stereotypes of persons with disabilities. Finally, we will question the role of these understandings in the way they shape current policies.
