Cultures of MRU: Speak Out! Self-Advocacy for BIPOC Students
Organized and put on by The Student Advocacy Resource Centre (SARC) and the Cultural Inclusion Centre, the Speak Out! Self-Advocacy for BIPOC Students event aims to help educate and support students who want to provide mutual support and advice to peers when distressed with issues affecting their education. Through informal discussion around topics students face here at MRU, such as micro-aggression in the classroom, disagreements about marks, not getting along with the instructor, and many others. In this discussion, students will learn strategies to empower themselves and teach others to advocate for themselves.
