SAMRU is here for you over the summer

As a member, you continue to have access to SAMRU resources, programs, and spaces over the summer!

SARC

If you’re appealing a final grade, preparing to meet with your professor, or have another academic (or non-academic) situation that you aren’t sure how to navigate, SAMRU’s Student Advocacy Resource Centre (SARC) provides you with confidential support, guidance, and options.

Book an appointment with SARC.

Student Health & Dental Benefits

If you’re enrolled in SAMRU’s Student Health and Dental Benefit plan, you have coverage over the spring and summer, until August 31, 2023. If you’re returning in the fall, your coverage will be renewed automatically in the next academic year. If you aren’t returning, be sure to use your coverage before it expires! Planning to travel? You can also use your plan anywhere in Canada!

For more information on coverage, how to submit a claim, or any other questions, visit mystudentplan.ca/mtroyal

Basement Health Services

A pharmacy, dental office, and optometrist are conveniently located in the basement of Wyckham House! Check them out and put your student health and dental benefits to use, plus take advantage of the competitive rates and offers for students.

Good Food Box

Operated by the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary, The Good Food Box allows you to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables at an affordable cost!

Good Food Boxes are delivered to SAMRU once a month. You can place your orders by filling out this form or by visiting SAMRU Reception (Z222). Orders can be paid for by cash, credit, or debit. Reception is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm during the Spring and Summer semesters.

Peer Support Centre (PSC)

If you need additional food support over the summer, visit the Peer Support Centre (PSC) in room Z210! You can fill out an intake form to access the Main Care Cupboard, or drop by the PSC during office hours (Mon – Fri, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm) to fill out an application form for a referral to the Calgary Food Bank.

SAMRU can provide interest-free loans to students in need during emergency situations. Our services are confidential and free of charge. If you would like to request emergency funds, please visit the Peer Support Centre during office hours to fill out an application with one of our volunteers.
