The Native Student Centre (NSC) located on the second floor of Wyckham House welcomes any member of the MRU campus community with an interest in Aboriginal culture. In an effort to showcase the centre to those who might not already know about it, centre coordinator Cory Cardinal will be hosting an Open House on November 28th along with the many volunteers who call the centre home.

“This is a good opportunity to meet new people” said Cory about the Open House, although not the only opportunity as the Centre has a wide range of services open to all MRU students. There are also a number of programs that the centre hosts, including a popular Aboriginal craft program.

The Open House is sure to entice the curious with free food and drink; tea and home-made bannock, a traditional bread which can be served with a variety of different toppings or sides. The bannock will be prepared by Darlene Maguinis, a community member who regularly contributes her cooking skills to share Aboriginal culture with those visiting the centre and for NSC events here at Mount Royal University.
