Learn more about your ancestry through the Aboriginal Ancestry Program

SAMRU’s Native Student Centre (NSC) introduced a new program in October, the Aboriginal Ancestry Program, where a researcher is joining the centre on a weekly basis to assist all Mount Royal University students (regardless of your cultural heritage) who want to explore genealogy. Robin Karen Kirk will be in the centre from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every Wednesday while classes are in session during the Fall and Winter semesters.

While Robin’s research focuses on Métis and Aboriginal ancestry, all students will find useful information for their own genealogy projects through her resources, suggestions, links, and advice. Robin will answer your questions and get you started learning more about genealogy and your own ancestry or that of someone you’re curious to learn more about.

This is a drop-in program, and you can learn more by contacting NSC Coordinator Cory Cardinal at c.cardinal@samru.ca or visit https://samru.ca/supportservices/nsc/
