Description

Bissett Accounting Students Society was started in 2003, back when Mount Royal was still a college. After two decades, BASS became the largest student society at MRU and we are celebrating our 21-year anniversary with our membership count of 250 members in the 2023-2024 school year.

Our mission as a student society is to act as a liaison between the accounting students at Mount Royal University, CPA Alberta, and industry professionals.

We are dedicated to empowering students in their journey toward successful careers in the accounting profession. By hosting a variety of events throughout the academic year, we aim to help our members launch their careers by providing invaluable opportunities for networking and skill development.  As well as serving as a resource for students to gain insights into the necessary steps they must take as they embark upon their professional journeys.

Club Mission

To promote the Bissett School of Business and the Bachelor of Business Administration-Accounting major and Accounting Co-op majors to accounting professionals and the community at large. Act as liaisons between accounting business students, the Chartered Professional Accountant organization, and prospective employers. Provide professional development opportunities for members by developing and coordinating various programs and events. To foster an environment where accounting business students can build relationships with professionals, faculty, and like-minded students.
