Let SAMRU help you with the burden with one of our financial support programs, available to all credit students.

Emergency Student Funds

SAMRU can provide interest-free loans to students in need during emergency situations. Our services are confidential and free of charge. If you would like to request emergency funds, please visit the Peer Support Centre (Z210) during office hours to fill out an application with one of our volunteers; if you're unable to make it to campus, please reach out to  to book an online appointment.

Mount Caring

Mount Caring, SAMRU’s holiday support program, is a barrier-free service for all Mount Royal students feeling the holiday stress. Students can apply online during the month of November to receive gift cards for themselves and their dependents, if any.

Discounted bus tickets

Another valuable service offered by SAMRU to make things easier for students during this trying time are heavily discounted bus tickets for students who rely on the transit system. This is one hot deal! All SAMRU members (if you’re a credit student, we are talking to you!) can purchase a book of 10 transit tickets from us for only $21 — that’s 40% off the regular price of transit tickets!

Students can purchase bus tickets by visiting the SAMRU Reception in Z222 or by calling 403-440-6077. Additionally bus tickets can be mailed to your address *standard postage fees apply.
