Description

Write Club at MRU is a student-run community dedicated to fostering a safer space for student writers at all levels of skill and experience. We run weekly meeting and fun monthly events! Whether you’re brand new to writing or a published author, Write Club provides a supportive platform for writers to work together on projects, share ideas, and refine their craft while gaining access to valuable resources. We host events that inspire and empower both members and the wider MRU community in their literary pursuits. Through partnerships with local authors, libraries, and literary organizations, we offer students industry insights and experiences. We also act as a bridge between students and the university’s Language Arts faculty, ensuring that student voices are heard. Our club is committed to inclusivity, actively encouraging participation from diverse, marginalized, and underrepresented backgrounds.

Club Mission

Operating out of Mount Royal University (MRU), Write Club advocates for the local literary writing and arts. We are dedicated to create space and celebrate the voices of diverse and marginalized backgrounds, and foster a nurturing community of writers at any stage in their literary journey. We are here to prove there is a thriving, growing writing scene in Calgary, Alberta ready for newcomers.
