Widening the Knowledge Space: Black Authors and Learning in the MRU Context with Dr. Ademola Adesola

Conversations That Matter – Scarborough Charter

Collaborating with MRU’s Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, we’re hosting a workshop where students will take part in a panel discussion.

Black Experience Mental Health Workshop

Teaming up with the Afro-Cari Student Society, we’re hosting a vital conversation on mental health tailored to the Black community.

Student BIPOC Support Network

Adding a special touch to our usual SAMRU program, the BIPOC experience discussion features a student facilitator leading the session.

Partnering with the Afro-Cari Student Society, we’re bringing you an incredible showcase featuring a range of performances by talented Black artists – from dance to singing and beyond.

Black Small Business Market

February 28th | Wyckham House: 2nd Floor Lounge | 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Partnering with the Afro-Cari Student Society for an Arts/Business Market, highlighting and showcasing Black-owned businesses.

Afro Caribbean Club Debate

February 29th | Wyckham House: 2nd Floor Lounge | 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm 

We’re hosting an engaging debate featuring Afro-Caribbean clubs from other schools. Join us for a thought-provoking exchange on a variety of topics.

Black History Celebration 2024

March 2nd | Thorncliffe Community Association – 5600 Centre St N | 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Seeds to Roots – Honouring Black Business Entrepreneurs. A free family event hosted by the Caribbean Associations of Calgary (some which are MRU staff members).
