When you need to use a media access form:
You will need to fill out a media access form seeking approval from SAMRU if you:

• Plan on filming an event taking place in Wyckham House or in West Gate Social
• Are requesting interviews from guest speakers or performers in those spaces
• Want to film or interview in a SAMRU service space (the Peer Support Centre or the Pride Centre)

Why do I need to seek permission from SAMRU?

• The Wyckham House Student Centre is operated by SAMRU. Certain services, events, or performances taking place there are approved by SAMRU and may have privacy, contractual, insurance, or other obligations associated with them.
• Due to regulations and SAMRU policies, there are certain restrictions pertaining to filming, taking pictures and conducting interviews in West Gate Social.

When you DON'T need to use a media access form:
If you want to film b-roll or interview people in the Wyckham House Student Centre (not including West Gate Social), then please:

• Let SAMRU Reception know where and when this will be occurring
• Do not block any hallways or exits
• Please make sure you seek permission from any individuals you may be filming or interviewing
