National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Speaker

In recognition of the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, we invite you to a special performance by Indigenous artist, Curt Young. Using a blend of traditional and modern music, Curt shares his life experiences and culture with audiences of all ages. His music is filled with storytelling, hand drum songs, and flute melodies that will captivate all listeners. Each song is its own show, touching on Indigenous events and celebrating the power of music, dance, and storytelling to bring people together in the spirit of reconciliation.

Student BIPOC Support Network

This network seeks to facilitate a sense of belonging on campus by providing a support network for students who identify as Black, Indigenous or People of Colour. Building Bridges: Tea and Bannock Talking Circle

Talking Circles are an essential part of Indigenous cultures; they encourage dialogue and allow for connection among participants. The Tea and Bannock Talking Circle invites students to meet people and enjoy tea and bannock while participating in discussions on a wide variety of Indigenous and international issues impacting various communities. This event is an open, informal event, and participants are welcome to participate in any capacity they choose. Meet in the Cultural Inclusion Centre (Z203) located on the second floor of Wyckham House.

Drum, Dine, and Discuss happens on Thursdays from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm and is open to everyone on campus. Drumming is a great way to reduce stress through making music! Beginners and participants of all experience levels are welcome to join. After the Drum Circle, enjoy snacks and networking. Meet us in the Cultural Inclusion Centre (Room Z203) – let’s drum!
