For over 40 years, the SAMRU Awards have highlighted and celebrated post-secondary excellence at Mount Royal University (MRU). On April 11, students, faculty and community leaders gathered in Wyckham House for the SAMRU Awards.
The SAMRU Student Governing Board (SGB) was on hand for the ceremony and had the distinct honour of presenting over $42,000 in awards.
On April 5th, the air in Wyckham House shimmered with anticipation as the annual SAMRU Awards Ceremony illuminated outstanding contributions of campus members.
For over 60 years, the Students’ Association of Mount Royal University (SAMRU) has believed the ultimate goal of all Mount Royal University students is academic success and personal achievement. SAMRU understands the importance of recognizing and honouring the non-academic and extra-curricular contributions of MRU students. So we’ve dedicated a day to give back to the exceptional individuals who are a part of the campus community – to the tune of $40,000 in scholarships at the SAMRU Awards, as a matter of fact.
The smell of delectable candy wafts through the air, the chocolate river flows, and Wyckham House turns on the bright lights to honour the exceptional members on campus at the annual SAMRU Awards Ceremony!
